GdS: Signings, dressing room, stadium and more – the five tasks for Milan’s new management

The new AC Milan management have a to-do list that they must work their way through in the coming weeks, according to a report.

La Gazzetta dello Sport talks about how owner Gerry Cardinale made the decision to sack the technical director and sporting director in one fell swoop and now it will be up to the CEO Giorgio Furlani and chief scout Geoffrey Moncada to take care of responsibilities.

Mercato: The first task is the summer window. Some targets like Arnautovic and Berardi have vanished, while names such as Scamacca, Pulisic, Thuram and Kamada are gaining momentum. Sales will also b, with the Japanese profile remaining absolutely welcome.

Then there’s the outgoing market, which this year will inevitably have to take on greater proportions than last year with some expiring loans and (attempts at) sales meaning as many as 12 players could leave.

Structure: Who will take care of the business? As mentioned, it will be Furlani and Monada that will increase their responsibilities and range of action. The former will take care of the final part of the negotiations, and of course the economic aspects.

Pioli will no longer be just a head coach but will be personally involved in the dynamics of the signings made; an English-style manager role like Jurgen Klopp and before him Sir Alex Ferguson had.

Dressing roomThe new management have a changing room to reassure given that two key management figures disappeared overnight and the confusion of some players emerged on social media.

In this respect, the club have already taken action, clarifying that the project will not undergo changes or downsizings but on the contrary will be further strengthened.

Fans: The fourth post-it note hanging at Milanello is along the lines of the previous one. Even the Milan fans also need reassuring, with a lot of discontent being shown on social media and a lot of criticism of the dismissal of Maldini.

Starting the summer well with some useful signings would help a lot to in mitigating any bad blood and maybe it would change the mind of those who invite fans to desert San Siro.

Stadium: Last but not least is the new stadium. After a few months of (apparent) stalemate – during which Milan tried to figure out if there might be the conditions for returning to plan A at San Siro – the Rossoneri are once again pushing on the accelerator to pursue the matter elsewhere.

Some areas such as La Maura are no longer leading the way and now it seems San Donato Milanese is in pole with Sesto San Giovanni remaining in the background. Scaroni and Furlani have three projects on the table for the new Milan-only stadium and the owners are ready to put in €1bn to build their own stadium.
