Alessandro Florenzi is facing a long period out after he required surgery on the injury he sustained earlier this month, a report claims.
There was immediate panic when Florenzi went down in severe pain in the closing stages of the 0-0 draw against Sassuolo, and Milan knew the injury was not a minor one as they decided to sign Sergino Dest on deadline day to provide cover on the right flank.

In a statement on the official website, Milan confirmed that suffered a severe injury to the biceps femoris of his left hamstring, which required surgery in Finland, and added that he faces around five months out.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) confirms that Florenzi suffered a serious injury to the proximal hamstring tendon of his left thigh that forced him to undergo surgery and he is indeed facing a long spell out, so the player hopes to return to the pitch at the end of January.
