GdS: Fonseca will be central to Camarda’s Milan progression – the details

By Ben Dixon -

Few talents are as exciting as Francesco Camarda in world football, and he is AC Milan’s crown jewel. His talent is clear to see, the plan is in place for his future, and Paulo Fonseca will be a big part of it, as a report states.

As with everything in football, management is one of the most important things, and this is a pivotal factor in the development of young talent, such as Francesco Camarda. When you have a talent like the 16-year-old among your ranks, you have to be careful not to get carried away.

So far, Milan deserve credit for not getting carried away, he made his debut last season – becoming the youngest player to feature in Serie A in the process – but whether he would have made it so soon is unknown, given the decision was likely accelerated due to the Rossoneri’s injury issues in the striker department at the time.

Regardless of this, though, it has been done, and perhaps other clubs would have continued to experiment with him among the senior players, but this has not been the case, and the club and Camarda have remained grounded.

Now, though, they have appointed a coach who Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) deem to be one of the best at coaching young talent.

At Lille, he is responsible for the development of several players who now are the highlights of the team, most notably Leny Yoro, who is gaining interest from several of Europe’s elite. A talent Fonseca nurtured and trusted to make the jump to senior football.

Camarda is fundamental to the project. Ibrahimovic adores him and has addressed his willingness to support him as he develops. He has the world in front of him, but with Fonseca’s mentorship, maybe the world can wait, or maybe it won’t.

However, each decision will be made with Camarda’s future in mind, rather than what may be best for the club, because eventually, the two will align if they do not at first. A talent like this cannot be rushed, he must be nurtured, and then he can be unleashed, and Milan will reap the rewards for their patience when the time is right.

  1. So Camarda is at the center of the Milan project and they hired a coach for the senior team with the goal of developing a 16 years old from the youth team. Is that the plan for the second and third stars, Zlatan? Even Como is more ambitious…

So… Milan has only one goal, eh? They cannot have multiple goals? Why’s that? Have EVER written ANYTHING positive on this site?

  2. Ridiculous… Barcelona launches 16yolds all the time… either you have it, or you dont… unless “the project” is to get maybe 10mio for him after 3y and thats it
