GdS: Furlani personally leading negotiations with Chelsea over 21-year-old

AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani is continuing to try and negotiate the signing of Armando Broja from Chelsea despite the early resistance, a report claims.

According to the latest from La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), the current feeling is that Noah Okafor is not yet ready to be the deputy to Olivier Giroud, with the Frenchman having worked overtime last season as the only regularly available centre-forward.

That is why Broja is high on the list of targets – top for the striker position in fact – and the good relations between Chelsea and Milan could help. In recent weeks the Rossoneri gave the Blues €36m for Loftus-Cheek and Pulisic.

Broja has 21 goals in 91 professional games across spells at Chelsea, Vitesse and Southampton (the latter two being loan spells in 2020 and 2022), and has just recovered after an ACL injury last December.

Absent on the first day of the Premier League, he could have a better chance of playing at Milan and that is why Furlani is insisting to try and get a loan with option to buy deal done. Lorenzo Colombo would then be loaned out.

  1. Our striker search has led us here, coming off an ACL tear and in 21/22 he had 6 goals in 32 appearances for Southampton, I don’t get the huge push…

    1. Agreed. I’m not too hopeful. He’s talented sure but didn’t exactly light it up before joining Chelsea and then the ACL injury?? Huge gamble

I think we are slowly starting to see some difficulties in the new management. This is where true creativity comes into play. I’m not sure we are as balanced as we should be (yet) and we are taking huge risks on the health of a lot of players – Pulisic, Giroud, RLC, Benny, etc..and now potentially Borja. IF everyone stays healthy we will be fine but that is a big IF and one I guess Management has chosen to gamble on. I think it is shaping up as boom or bust type of season. Fingers crossed

  2. Chesea is such a joke club..
How many strikers have they gone through in the last few year?
Bought Jackson but still have a talent in Broja in the team…

  3. I said on a different page last night – why not just keep the 21 year old we’ve got? We OWN him.

He’s clearly not in Poch’s plans as Chelsea are STILL being linked with strikers, so I think this will happen, personally.

  4. I just hate how Milan have no hope on players they even bought, some players need time to adopt, Noah okafor is far better than Broja, paqueta was also traumatized till her left and now he’s linked to City, CDK is a very good player and now they said he’s a flop, so what is the use of the coach on players, Leao is not even in his best form, I bet we need to change the coach, no doubt Pioli has done a lot but the improvement and failures of players totally depends on him. How many players left Milan to become targets for bigger clubs and we will bite our fingers and be like he was a Milan player, those coaches improve them and what is different on pioli, Adil is such a perfect player, we will surly regret it when he leaves.
