GdS: Gazidis a man alone in command at Milan – he has Elliott’s full backing

By Oliver Fisher -

The image of CEO Ivan Gazidis sat alone in the stands at San Siro for Milan-Genoa over the weekend, although apparently for health reasons, has become a poignant one.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), he is a single man in command of the club through all the chaos in the media and at corporate level and, in fact, he is the most powerful figure at the club.

The paper claims that this most recent bit of instability is bringing the CEO to the forefront and, from now on, he will put his face on everything first. The South African manager can count on the support of Gordon Singer and in general of the Elliott fund, who has decided to focus on him to try to bring Milan back to the top.

In this very difficult moment one which has already seen Zvone Boban sacked and could also see the Maldini-Massara duo leave, the only certainty is the total involvement of Gazidis in the daily running of the club, even though he is used to being in the shade.
