GdS: Gazidis tells Milan squad there is ‘very little chance’ of Rangnick’s arrival

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis gave an interesting speech to the team before Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Genoa at San Siro, a report claims.

The corporate chaos ensuing appeared to have an effect on the players who were sluggish throughout, eventually being deservedly beaten by a relegation-battling Rossoblu side.

There has been no shortage of instability at Milan yet again over the past couple of weeks, with Zvonimir Boban having been sacked for comments he made regarding Gazidis’ apparent decision to contact Ralf Rangnick behind the backs of the technical area.

According to what La Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting on Wednesday – as cited by MilanNews – Gazidis spoke to the Rossoneri squad on the eve of the defeat to Genoa.

During this, he confirmed to the players his confidence in head coach Stefano Pioli and then explained that there is very little chance of seeing Ralf Rangnick at Milan next season.

The South African thus tried to give more certainty to the team and in fact deny Boban’s version of events.
