AC Milan are big admirers of Fenerbahce forward Arda Güler and La Gazzetta dello Sport have taken a look at how he might fit into the side.
The paper published a report this morning confirming that Güler is a target for the Rossoneri because he is perfectly in line with the club’s project of signing young players with high potential who are versatile.
They also produced a graphic showing just how the 18-year-old – who scored his first goal for Turkey on Monday with a lovely shot into the top corner from the edge of the box – might fit into Stefano Pioli’s plans.
The most obvious role is as the attacking midfielder behind Olivier Giroud, given that a replacement is needed for Brahim Diaz and the arrival of Daichi Kamada is not official year. From there, he can move into spaces either side.
However, he could also play on the right wing instead of Alexis Saelemaekers, thus offering the option of cutting inside onto his favoured left foot for crosses and/or shooting chances.
Let it go….we are not getting Guler. Deeper pockets will overpay for him and get him before we even come to the table to negotiate.
