GdS: Ibrahimovic makes decision on career – the latest on the possibility of a stay at Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made a key decision regarding his future, a report claims, amid speculation he is set to leave AC Milan this summer.

The Swede has made a huge impact since officially confirming his return to Milan for a second spell in January, but there are currently doubts about whether his stay with the Rossoneri could be a short one as his deal is set to expire in June.

There have been rumours about a possible retirement for the 38-year-old but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport on Sunday (via MilanLive), Ibrahimovic does not want to end his career in this way given the stop because of the COVID-19 emergency.

Instead the striker wants to leave football in style, in an atmosphere of normalcy. The indications are there too: Ibrahimovic is training with Hammarby at present, the club he co-owns. He can do it, because there is no lockdown as there is in Italy.

Regarding a stay at Milan, Boban’s farewell and the likely departure of Maldini do not make him happy, and if he stays it will be because Ivan Gazidis has convinced him.

Elliott and the CEO think about a possible renewal proposal, but clearly the final decision will be up to Ibra.
