GdS: Ibrahimovic still COVID-positive but there is optimism regarding return vs. Inter

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still Coronavirus positive at the moment but there is optimism he will be available for the derby after the break.

After the transfer window closed at 20:00 CEST on Monday, attention now turns towards the derby after the international break.

The game on October 17th will make mouths water as Milan put their perfect start to the 2020-21 season on the line as well as their unbeaten run in Serie A against their toughest opponent yet.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Ibrahimovic tested positive for COVID in his latest test on Monday. The swabs are being taken at regular intervals without forcing the times dictated by the protocol.

The most likely hypothesis is that the Swede will be ready for the derby against Inter after the international break, because the 39-year-old is asymptomatic, is well in himself and continues to train at home while he cannot be with his team-mates.
