GdS: Ibrahimovic vying to return after shaking off calf problem – his possible first game back

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic appears to have almost shaken off the calf problem that kept him out of two big games before Christmas, a report claims.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports, the Swede is ready to play again and is tired of watching, of training apart from the group, of undergoing medical tests and checks – he wants to play and be the protagonist again.

Ibrahimovic returned to Milan yesterday with his wife Helena and the latest check-up he had went well, with the calf injury healed. Now the countdown has officially begun and although Stefano Pioli will have to wait a little longer because the medical staff want to take no risks, his return date can be hypothesised.

The striker will certainly miss the matches against Benevento and Juventus. However, he could return early for the double header against Torino in the Coppa Italia and in the league, scheduled for 9 and 12 January. Failing that, he will certainly be there for Cagliari-Milan, scheduled for January 18th.
