GdS: Ibrahimovic wants to be a showman on the pitch before leaving for Sanremo

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will take centre-stage at the Stadio Olimpico tonight against Roma before doing so again at the Sanremo Festival next week.

“Zlatan is looking for goals and applause”, writes La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), placing the spotlight on the Swede who will become the centre of attention both on the field and away from it.

After the match against Roma, Ibrahimovic will leave his team-mates to train for three days alone in Liguria, where he will be accompanied by a trainer and a physiotherapist of the club. The 39-year-old will then be in Sanremo on Tuesday for the first evening of the festival, and on Wednesday he will be at the San Siro for the match against Udinese.

Thursday he will stay at Milanello for the cool-down then he will go to the Riviera until Saturday – the last evening of the Festival – before joining his team-mates for Verona-Milan on Sunday. In the capital tonight Ibra will be back after starting from the bench against Red Star. In the next few days he will play the role of the showman, but first he wants to make his mark on the pitch.
