GdS: Ibrahimovic’s season is over due to knee injury – he still hopes to make the Euros

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return to action has been cut short once again as the forward is set to miss the rest of the season, according to a report.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), many feared the worst, especially after reviewing the images of his injury, but luckily Ibrahimovic has only suffered a knee sprain and his ligaments are therefore safe.

However, his season is unfortunately already over. Stefano Pioli said in his pre-Torino press conference that he had some hope of seeing him again on the pitch in the last league match against Atalanta, but in reality the stop will be for at least three weeks. The Rossoneri will therefore have to mathematically qualify for the next Champions League without their leader.

Zlatan has no intention of giving up on playing in the the European Championships with Sweden and coach Janne Andersson – despite the knee injury – still wants to call him uo. He may miss the first match against Spain, but in the next two matches of the group (against Slovakia and Poland) Ibra could appear.

  1. I hope I’m wrong, but, I think Ibra’ career is finished. He has missed more games through injury than games played this season. Its a shame if he is, I’m gutted.

But then again, he is no mere mortal, so who am I to say he’s finished lol.

    Get better soon Ibra
