GdS: ‘If you are for Milan, prove it’ – Okafor must take golden opportunity

In many ways, Noah Okafor is a confusing player. The Swiss winger arrived with the idea of rotation and promise, but that has not been seen enough in his year at the club. When AC Milan return from the international break, he may be given a chance, one that he must take.

There is a lot to like about Okafor, and he has not really been given the chance to fully unveil himself, because of his role within the team. He arrived as a deputy to Rafael Leao, and dropping him for the Swissman is a bold move.

Whilst he can also play up front, there have been few showings of his credentials to displace anyone. However, this may change in the near future.

As Gazzetta dello Sport write, with Okafor ‘excluded’ from the Switzerland National Team set-up, there are two weeks for him to earn a shot. Of course, he has already shown glimpses this season – the game against Toro being the notable case. Since then, though, he has fallen back into the abyss.

The youngster needs continuity in his role, whether this be as a starter or substitute because he proved to make a difference when handed this last season – look at the display of late goals.

Therefore, he must work to give himself a chance, and that chance could snowball him back into the National Team. Alternatively, failure to prove himself as a candidate for the role could cause Milan to look at the mercato.

His contract expires in 2028 meaning his value is at a nice point right now, and he is still young enough for another club to take a gamble on his clear potential. So, unless Okafor takes his chance, it may be his last big opportunity to gain a position in Rossoneri colours.

The future is in his hands, and Gazzetta calls for him to prove that he can be a Milan player.

  1. Okafor has never been given a chance for regular game time and when he comes on he always performs. I don’t see why we wouldn’t want to keep him as he always gives his all

  2. Confused player as how please? Sale him and then later he comes back and hurt us , please give him chance before judging him, how can you judge a player who mostly play ten or five minutes?

  3. Okafor is a good player.
He has to play regularly to show his qualities
But if Fonseca stays, may be it would be better for him to go elsewhere and play happy football,
and gaining back his place in Switzerland’s squad
We know some examples of players, they improved after leaving Milan…
    Good for them,
    Good luck 🤞 🤞 👍 👍

  4. This fonceca fails to even maintain balance amongst the team you can plan Musa okafor chekwez on the bench all the time I guess this coach doesn’t have balls for rotation and if we loose those two players I won’t be surprise but we gonna regret look at adli
