GdS: January market ‘difficult’ for Boban and Maldini after budget reveal

By Oliver Fisher -

It is ‘difficult’ to imagine Milan signing a big player in January following the outcome of the latest budget, a report claims.

Il Sole 24 Ore – among other outlets – revealed that the Rossoneri made losses of around €146million for the 2018-19 season, much higher than was predicted by some sources.

That is €20m higher than they were in 2017-18 under the ownership of Yonghong Li, and Elliott Management have reportedly pumped over €600m into the club already.

According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport – as cited by MilanNews.it – Milan will struggle to sign a player of ‘quality and experience’ in the winter market as a result.

There may be an even worse consequence though, as La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Milan may be forced to sell one of their star players in January due to the outcome of the latest budget.
