GdS: Milan could be forced to sell star player in January – the six options

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan may be forced to sell one of their star players in January due to the outcome of the latest budget, according to a report.

La Repubblica released a report yesterday claiming that the Rossoneri ended the 2018-19 season with losses of around €155.9million, an increase from 2017-18 under Yonghong Li’s ownership.

They claimed however that it may not be too much cause for concern, as Ivan Gazidis ‘made a move typical of CEOs in their first year of assignment’ by providing a ‘budget cleanup’.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport though, Milan may still have to face the consequences of being so far in the red.

The paper claims that there is a ‘solution that more than others would help in a short time: to sell players’.

The main suspects remain Suso and Gianluigi Donnarumma, with the latter repeatedly linked with a move to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain

The pair would also guarantee the greatest capital gains as both cost zero, however Lucas Paqueta is also apparently an option for PSG as well.

Suitors could come in for captain Alessio Romagnoli, while Premier League side Wolves could come back in for Franck Kessie has an offer from the usual Wolverhampton.

Don’t discount the chances of selling Krzysztof Piatek too, the paper claims, with Manchester United and Barcelona having been linked with a €40-50m bid.
