GdS: Kalulu ready to sign Milan renewal – significant pay rise expected

By Isak Möller -

Pierre Kalulu was a key player for AC Milan last season and he started this one just as well, helping the Rossoneri beat Udinese 4-2. Unsurprisingly, the Rossoneri now have a contract renewal ready for the youngster.

The 2021/22 campaign was really a breakthrough season for Kalulu. He started it as a backup right-back and finished it as an undisputed starter in the centre of the defence, which is still the case in spite of Simon Kjaer’s return.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Milan have prepared a renewal for the Frenchman and it will be completed once the market has closed. The new deadline should be 2026, as opposed to the current 2025, and the main difference will be the salary (significant pay rise).

Kalulu currently earns a mere €500k per year and it’s believed that this figure will at least be tripled. Well deserved indeed and he’s a symbol for the Rossoneri project, arriving for very little money and performing on a very high level despite his age.
