GdS: Kamada to undergo Milan medical after final – the terms and what he will bring

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will soon secure an attacking reinforcement to kick off the summer window with Daichi Kamada due for a medical, a report claims.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below), Kamada’s time with Eintracht Frankfurt is not done just yet as he will be on the field in Berlin on Saturday night for the DFB-Pokal final against RB Leipzig.

However, it is now virtually certain that it will be his final game in Germany as his move to Milan can be considered essentially done. Kamada will arrive on a free transfer when his deal expires at the end of next month.

With no transfer fee to worry about, all that will weigh on the accounts is the €3m net per season (just under €4m gross, thanks to the tax relief provided by the Growth Decree) that he will earn in salary.

The agreement will be for four years – until June 2027 – and after Kamada hopefully wins his third trophy in five years at Eintracht he will travel to Italy next week for a medical and the signing of his new contract.

The Japan international is currently on 178 appearances for Eintracht, in which he has scored 40 goals. The playmaker role is one where Stefano Pioli has not had consistency production, given Brahim Díaz scored seven times and Charles De Ketelaere zero.

Kamada therefore could solve the problem of relying too much of Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud, while he can also play as a box-to-box midfielder so should give greater guarantees in the non-possession phase too.
