GdS: Leao not expected to start for Milan in EuroDerby

By Euan Burns -

Rafael Leao is not expected to be in the starting eleven for AC Milan against Inter in the first leg of the Champions League EuroDerby on Wednesday night, a report claims.

The report comes from La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Luca Bianchin on Twitter. He claims that it is currently looking more likely that the Portuguese forward will not start.

There was some recent hope for Milan fans as Leao arrived at the team hotel to join up with the rest of his teammates, but there was always a chance he would do that regardless of whether he was cleared to play or not.

Leao stayed at Milanello to undergo more fitness tests on Wednesday morning but this latest report suggests that those tests only led to him being ruled out of a starting berth.

Stefano Pioli must now hope that his team can get a good result without him needing to bring Leao off of the bench, should he make it.

        1. If he is not playing we can’t just go buy a player can we! we have to do with Sala. And sometimes with your star pkayer not available the rest of the team will push themselves further and give 120%
The only thing we can do now is enjoying this historical moment, Milan in Simi final for first time in a very long time.

  1. If rebic can play like he used to be we will have more alternative but sadly rebic now play like a little boy in the kindergarden, what a waste

    1. Yes. What a let down this season. Perhaps more so than CDK and Origi. There was a time we could rely on him, and he went backwards.
