GdS: Leao showing his development through goals and performances – the best is yet to come

By Oliver Fisher -

Rafael Leao put in another bright performance during Saturday night’s 2-0 win over Torino at San Siro, showing once again that he is taking the next step.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports (via MilanNews), the Portuguese forward was able to get on the scoresheet again fter the lightning goal against Sassuolo and the wonderful chip in Benevento. Against Torino, he netted the goal that opened the scoring and paved the way for Milan.

This Leao appears to be the more effective and mature brother of the talented player who last year often frustrated Stefano Pioli and the Rossoneri fans because of his inconsistency. The numbers don’t lie as Leao has five goals in Serie A and continues to play the centre-forward role well, and perhaps the best is yet to come in the second half of the season.

However, the 21-year-old will not be there against Cagliari due to disqualification as last night he was cautioned by Maresca for a foul adjudged to be clear simulation that seems very harsh. It is a shame for Milan to lose him in this moment, but he will return to face Atalanta.
