GdS: Leicester to challenge Milan, Man Utd by submitting €30m defender bid

By Oliver Fisher -

Premier League high-flyers Leicester City have joined the race for AC Milan target Merih Demiral and are ready to submit a bid, it is claimed.

We recently revealed in an exclusive from Vito Angele that Milan are in the market for a new centre-back following the achilles tendon injury sustained by Leo Duarte.

The Brazilian had an operation in Sweden to repair the problem but is expected to be out until at least March, with Demiral identified as the number one target for next month’s window.

Calciomercato.com then claimed that Milan and Juve have ‘had more than a direct dialogue’ in the last few days to discuss potential opportunities for the upcoming transfer window – one of which is Demiral.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira though, there is serious competition from England as Leicester are ready to submit a €30m bid for the Turkey international.

In addition, the Foxes are readying a five-year deal worth €3m-a-year, however Juve director Fabio Paratici does not want to sell him outright.

Demiral has also been linked with a move to Manchester United along with Spurs and Arsenal.
