Massimiliano Allegri has been the talk of the town since Italy’s failure to qualify for the World Cup. However, as highlighted by a report, AC Milan have a clear plan to keep him.
As today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo at the bottom), Allegri has helped take Milan from an eighth-place finish to properly competing for a spot in the top four. So, are the Rossoneri really willing to tear that apart and start anew? The clear answer is no.
Allegri is deemed to be the foundation for next season, and while there have been some disagreements, Milan don’t see this as a negative thing. Instead, they like a manager who challenges the management, because otherwise you won’t make any true progress.
Three high-quality signings
To make Allegri happy, Milan will do everything in their power to satisfy his wishes. It’s much easier now compared to last summer, as the Rossoneri likely will have Champions League money to rely on for the transfer budget.
Beyond the money, the competition also means that Milan need to strengthen their squad from a numerical point of view. Allegri needs to add more Rabiots to the mix, players with experience and personality, who are in the middle of their careers. Not young or promising players.
The squad must also be more cohesive than the current one, where the gap between the front of the pecking order (Pavlovic, the usual Rabiot, Pulisic, Leao) and the back (Odogu, Jashari, Estupinan, Nkunku) is too clear.
It’s not just a matter of identifying the right players, it’s a matter of doing it together. This is exactly what Milan are willing to do with Allegri this summer.
Milan are not worried
In addition to the mercato, Milan also recognise that Allegri is an extraordinary manager, almost to the point of being a director. The chain of command is already rather complex at the club, but Allegri’s voice deserves to be heard, as the pink newspaper continues.
In fact, Milan are already thinking about how they can involve the manager more in the overall project, which would involve more decision-making than just which players to sign. With all of this in mind, the Rossoneri aren’t worried about the recent outside noise.
Whether for the national team or another club, they believe that Allegri is fully committed to the project and that he won’t be tempted. It should also be noted that they have contractual protections in place, which shouldn’t be underestimated. ‘
The current deal runs until 2027 and in the event of Champions League qualification, it will automatically be extended by a year (until 2028). Then, Milan also have a one-year renewal that they could trigger, taking the deadline to 2029.
Of course, there has to be a willingness to continue together, but Milan are definitely not worried as things stand.

When we are talking about football decisions, we should be citing Allegri-Tare-Moncada, not Zlatan-Furlani-Moncada.
Get rid of Zlatan – he’s pointless.
Ideally get rid of Furlani but if he’s staying change his role to day-to-day running and be clear that he leaves the football to the football men.
Give Moncada a chance to keep doing what he’s doing in a new structure.
Only replace Tare if a genuine upgrade surfaces.
Give Allegri more power and a squad he deserves.
I would say that Milan needs 5 players (3 starters and 2 subs) in this summer.
ST: Vlahovic/Sorloth/Lewa/Mateta/Kean
CM: Goretzka/B.Silva
LWB: Spinazzola/Nuno Tavares
RWB: Dodo/Norton-Cuffy
CB: Gila/Solet
If you sum up the most expensive ones, you get: 100 mil. maximum
And if you get the cheapest ones: 50 mil.
A serious club goes like this
Kean/Lewa both of them for the attack
Goretzka and Silva both for midfiled
LWB nuno RWB Dod And cb GIla
So what i would play next season would be:
Mike nuno Gila Pavlovic Dodo Rabiot Goretzka B.Silva Pulisic Vlahovic Leao
Back ups
Terraciano Barthesagi De Winter Gabbia Athekame Modric Jashari Ricci Gnoto Lewandowski Salemakers
Well… It won’t help him or us if Furlani or Moncada picks the “three major signings” instead of Allegri.
I don’t think that Furlani is meddling with football decisions. Yes, he signs off checks when buying players and giving out wages, and with all that he probably uses power but lets not think that AC Milan is being run unprofessionally. C’mon, lets be real. Remember Berlusconi? He even told Ancelotti the formation he would like to see on the pitch etc.
I don’t think that Zlatan is a problem either. He wants success and he knows how big successful clubs are run because he has played for many of them for a very long time. He is a smart guy that doesn’t mess around. Otherwise Cardinale would have kicked him out already.
I think that the problem is the past turbulence that started in the last years of Berlusconi era. The club was neglected for a long time. Then came the Chinese owners, Elliott, Red Bird, overdependence on Theo and Leao etc. AC Milan has come a long way from there and getting healthier and healthier.
Building a good team and a sound club that can produce season after season takes a lot of time. In my opinion AC Milan is taking the right steps in the right direction. It takes patience.
Italy football is disaster. We not anymore at 5 best league. So if you not put money and bring players what coach need, then soon no one good not come coaching. Soon or late Italy lose coaches too.
Players you can find but coaches no. You bring Alegri and give him only 1 player (Rabiot) that player is best player all season and come cheap. So that is Alegri cant play good with players who dont understand what he want.
Sell Tomori,Salemakers,Estupinan,Jashari,Loftus,Leao,Nkunku and Gimenez and bring coach what he need.
Keeping alegri is big mistake they will regret
Thank you, bruv. It will be a great regret to keep him.
Allegri with more power will take the club back to the stone age
Bruuuhhhh…😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I don’t know why they keep saying he’s an extra ordinary manager….
No serious club on earth that aspires to achieve anything constantly play this shitty tactics he uses week in week out, he’s part of the people Killing Italian football… ambitious clubs depend on their attack, serie A depends on their defense with defenders who are average…..
Well… It takes “something special” to be able to coach (that) Juve for 15 matches with only 2 wins. He certainly isn’t “ordinary manager” in that sense. 🤦♂️😂😂😂
Ummm, Allegri has them in third place. He’s going with the weak offense that he’s been given.
Even with the 3 goals given up last week, Milan has given up the least goals a year in serie A. Yes, the corto muso strategy is painful, but it’s been more painful because of the mediocre signings last summer for the striker position. Since Giroud departed, they have had a toothless attack.
Nkunku, Fullkrug and Giminez are barely adequate signings. These signings are not Allegri’s fault.
I would let Leao go on a $60m transfer as he doesn’t fit the system as a withdrawn striker the way Pulisic does. Sign a striker that’s scored at least 10-12 goals a year in a top tier league.
Estupinan and Nkunku should be transferred. They are stuck with Musah (a backup wingback, and I have been a big Musah fan in the past) and Bennacer (should have accepted $10m for him).
Please play Modric further up the pitch in an attacking role – his passing is wasted as a #6.
What will you do for the next 3 seasons with Allegri as the manager? Time to give up? I suggest to start supporting Como in their attacking football.

I can’t believe the amount of comments on here asking for older, slower players. We already got old slow midfield whilst European teams get faster, Serie A gets slower and then they wonder why clubs do terrible in Europe and National Team can’t qualify for World Cup. Allegri is a terrible manager who plays his older slower players so giving him more power is a mistake on top of hiring him. The worst thing is the supporters who want to give him more power and want the club to sign the older slower players. RIP Serie A.
