GdS: Man Utd prepare five-year contract offer for star AC Milan playmaker – the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are hoping to resolve the renewal of Hakan Calhanoglu soon, a report claims, but there are several threats from clubs abroad.

Calhanoglu has become a key cog in the Milan machine which has gone 22 games without defeat since football resumed after the lockdown earlier this year, but his contract is set to expire in June 2021 with no sign that an agreement over an extension is imminent.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive), the negotiation has not yet begun between the Rossoneri management and Calhanoglu’s agent but in the next few days of there should be a meeting that hopefully will be decisive.

The paper claims that there is a considerable distance between the parties at present as Milan have put forward an offer of €3million net per season plus bonuses, while the Turkey international wants about double that.

Calhanoglu’s desire is to stay at Milan for a few more years and hopefully participate in the Champions League, but as mentioned big clubs are at the window.

Manchester United have prepared a five-year deal for the No.10 which would see him land a pay rise, while there are also many clubs in Spain that want to sign him.
