GdS: Man Utd set their sights on Donnarumma to replace De Gea – the player’s stance

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have Gianluigi Donnarumma to thank for the fact they are in the last 16 of the Europa League due to his many decisive saves, and his exploits in the competition have drawn interest.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports (via MilanNews) this morning, Donnarumma was decisive on several occasions such as in the preliminaries against Rio Ave and during the round of 16 against Red Star. Tomorrow night, he will be called upon to keep Manchester United quiet, but if he does so then it may just confirm the interest of the English side.

The paper writes how United want Donnarumma to be David De Gea’s heir. The player’s will however is to stay at Milan where he is an undisputed symbol and therefore he wants to renew his contract, even if for now there is no progress in the negotiations between his agent Mino Raiola and the Rossoneri management.

Donnarumma is focused only on the pitch and on trying to reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League plus the prospect of playing at Old Trafford, a stadium that evokes many good memories in the minds of Milan fans.
