GdS: Manduzkic to miss second leg against Red Star due to hamstring issue – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will be without Mario Mandzukic for the second leg of their Europa League Round of 32 tie against Red Star, a report claims.

Mandzukic got his first start for Milan during the first leg since arriving as a free agent in January, but was unable to get on the scoresheet. Having not played a competitive game since March prior to his arrival, there were concerns about the fitness of the Croatian and the latest news will do little to quell those fears.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Mandzukic – who missed the derby against Inter during which Ibrahimovic came off with calf cramp – will also miss the Europa League return match against Red Star on Thursday evening at San Siro.

The centre-forward suffered a low-grade injury to his left hamstring and is unlikely to be available, meaning that Pioli may have to turn to the likes of Rafael Leao or Ante Rebic if he does not want to start the Swede.
