GdS: Milan await response from Spurs after €10m+ defender bid – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

Emerson Royal was one of the first names that AC Milan were concretely linked with this summer, and while things went quiet over the past couple of weeks new developments have arrived.

Sky sprung a bit of a surprise last night when they claimed that the Milan management are getting closer to signing Royal from Spurs in addition to Strahinja Pavlovic of Red Bull Salzburg and Lazar Samardzic of Udinese.

According to the latest from La Gazzetta dello Sport, there are a number of players that Milan want to sign who also want to join, and that extends beyond Pavlovic and Samardzic to Youssouf Fofana and Royal.

The negotiation is once again alive for the Brazilian full-back, even if the directors are waiting for news from London. The offer of just over €10m is still on the table and if Tottenham accept, the move will be completed.

Paulo Fonseca has asked for a more attacking right-back to help assimilate his ideas and the former Barcelona man is certainly more forward-thinking than current options like Davide Calabria and Pierre Kalulu.

Emerson Royal a man looking for a bounce back season. In the last Premier League campaign he almost halved his starting appearances with Tottenham, from 20 to 11, and wants a fresh start to try win back a starting spot for Brazil.

    1. Yeah seems like zero fans seem to want this transfer. I get we aren’t experts but when it’s so one sided, surely the management doesn’t see something special in this player that no one else in the world can find!

  1. We have Calabria, florenzi, terraciano, saelemakers, jimenez, Kalulu, all who can play RB and we are going for yet another RB when we desperately need a DM ?? Makes 0 sense, especially considering this guy is utterly useless and pretty much noone wants him at the club, apart from Monkada who appears to be completely blind. I have watched this guy several times for Spurs and he is laughably bad. This would ge a serious waste of millions.

  2. Let the management work, E.g Danilo was below average at Madrid but he had good players around him and he became a winner, however Guardiola insisted on having him because he saw better ways to play him, he moved to city and he had two wonderful seasons and Madrid fan where wondering how stupid they are to let him leave but then Carvajal became more better, then Danilo moved to Juventus with Cancelo moving to city and he as played everywhere at the back having played 5 good season and still very infective for Juve, and Cancelo that seem better at ManCity can’t start and as to be loaned out. We are to haste and so many Milan fans here complain alot like fools. Royal had wonderful time at Betis and everyone wanted him and Barca exercise there clause and he had some problems there, Royal was however wonderful under Conte until he left Tottenham, we have a coach and professionals around him that know what is best for Milan, I understand we have couple of RB, I respect there job and I believe they will do what’s best for Milan.

  3. When everyone in the world is down on the guy it seems like a good time to get a deal. If they don’t take 65 cents on the dollar there’s still nothing lost.
