GdS: Milan want at least one midfield signing with Bayer Leverkusen star targeted

By Oliver Fisher -

A new target has emerged in AC Milan’s mission to sign a new central midfielder in the summer in Exequiel Palacios, a report claims.

Milan have been linked with a number of potential midfield targets in view of the upcoming mercato given that Franck Kessie was not properly replaced, leaving Stefano Pioli to rely arguably too much on Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer this season.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com),  Milan want at least one signing in midfield for next season and in addition to Daichi Kamada – who they like a lot and have a verbal agreement with – Exequiel Palacios of Bayer Leverkusen is high on their list of targets.

The 24-year-old Argentine plays deeper than Kamada does and has scored four goals in 23 Bundesliga appearances thus far in the current campaign, having netted a brace in March that saw Leverkusen stun the then-league leader Bayern Munich.
