GdS: Milan hone in on Chalobah and Pavlovic for the defence – the two profiles

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are focusing on Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah and Red Bull Salzburg’s Strahinja Pavlovic for the defence and both players have got similar profiles in terms of size and price.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are intent on adding at least one new defender to the squad as soon as possible and various names have been linked.

The latest profile to emerge is that of Pavlovic, a Serbian defender who many feel is ready to make the next step to one of Europe’s major leagues. At 23 years old, he has plenty of his career ahead too.

Milan have been linked with Chalobah on multiple occasions in the past year, given he does not seem to have a long-term future with the Premier League side despite becoming an important player amid an injury crisis last season.

One of the major selling points for Pavlovic is that he is left-footed and could play at left-back if needed, given Alessandro Florenzi could leave and Alex Jimenez is expected to divide his time between the first team and the U23 side.

Both players would cost €20-25m which means neither would break the bank and would still allow Milan to pursue other important targets in attack and in the midfield.

  1. Better to sign Pavlovic then, someone who’s actually good and huge and he’s left footed and can play left back which Milan actually want
Also cause Chalobah is just goofy looking so i dont want him

  2. Persue other important targets meanwhile they lost Buongiorno Thuram weifer zirkzee juan Miranda and prolly fofana too
PS chalobah is injury prone and he doesn’t play in Chelsea maybe 1 year so let’s pay 20 m for him . And Emerson who doesn’t play for Tottenham either

  3. @Romano: Napoli are ready to complete and seal the agreement with Alessandro Buongiorno over personal terms.

Final details on the release clause… and then Buongiorno will become new Napoli player next week.

€38m deal already agreed with Torino. Conte wants him at all costs.

When can we read Fonseca wants XXX at all costs. Oh wait, we signed a coach not a manager.

    1. Napoli signed Spinazzola on a free too. At least Conte recognized what he can still offer. He’d be perfect alternative to Theo and would bring much needed experience.

But we are going to rely on a right footed Jimenez who’s better playing a RB while chasing and potentially wasting money on that garbage Royal.

      1. The thing about manager like Conte is that he exactly know what he needs in order to deliver. More than any directors, or even the club’s owner. And that’s exaclty the trait this current management would like to avoid at all cost.

Yes Spinazzola would be a great addition. Moreover he would also fill our home grown quota.
