GdS: Milan want another Chelsea midfielder in addition to Loftus-Cheek with loan possible

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan know that they will probably need more than one signing for the midfield given Ismael Bennacer’s injury, and both could arrive from Chelsea.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below), Ruben Loftus-Cheek isn’t the only Chelsea midfielder who has ended up in Milan’s sights as they look to refresh the midfield department ahead of 2023-24.

The Rossoneri could in fact go back in for Carney Chukwuemeka, a player who the management were strongly after when he was at Aston Villa before he decided to make the move to Chelsea and sign a six-year deal.

The 19-year-old is rated as one of the biggest talents in England’s U20 side but he has made just 11 appearances for Chelsea this season since his arrival in what has been a difficult debut campaign.

Therefore, he could leave on loan with Milan keen on exploring a deal. Relations between the two clubs are great, as shown by the Tiemoue Bakayoko, Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud deals.

    1. IMO he would likely fail, unless Pioli made a change in formation.
None of the current midfield positions is suitable for him. He’s a mezzala. He’s not creative and technical enough to play as no. 10 and not defensively good enough in double pivot.

  1. Just as i think last year, Carney will not get place in chelsea and AC Milan will come in summer with loan offer. I dont interesting in RLC but carney have huge talent , maybe he can be on carnavinga level in the hand good coach
