GdS: Milan consider star untouchable amid PSG, Man Utd links but €50m clause is a worry

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have declared that Ismael Bennacer is untouchable despite interest from some top European clubs, a report claims.

Bennacer joined from Empoli last summer and has been one of the shining lights in a difficult season for the Rossoneri, earning a spot in the starting XI and never looking back while forming an effective double pivot with Franck Kessie.

Compétition in Bennacer’s native Algeria recently reported that Paris Saint-Germain have told the midfielder’s agent that they are ready to make ‘big financial efforts’ to sign the 21-year-old, with a five-year deal ready amid interest from Man Utd and Man City.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) note how the Rossoneri cannot do without his presence in the middle of the field and the club have finally found their midfield director.

The Algerian has a long career ahead and can still improve, but the €50m release clause that comes into play next year is a worry, as Milan may have to “defend” Bennacer from the courtship of the big European clubs.

He will have to grow in certain aspects (13 yellow cards is too many), but he has improved in terms of maturity and his all-round game.
