GdS: Milan could sign a midfielder late in January if exit is secured

AC Milan’s January transfer window may not be closed after all but any movement depends on a midfielder leaving, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) dedicated a small section to the future of Tiemouè Bakayoko, who could now possibly leave for Turkey given Adana Demirspor are strongly interested in signing him.

According to the paper, if the Frenchman were to accept the offer from the Turkish club then Milan could decide to make an addition in the final few days of the transfer window to replace him, hopefully one that Stefano Pioli actually plans on using.

Bakayoko rejoined Milan on a two-year loan from Chelsea in the summer of 2021 having had a previously successful loan spell in the 2018-19 season when Gennaro Gattuso was the head coach. His return has not gone to plan though, as he is yet to make a competitive appearance this season.

  1. This bum isn’t going anywhere. You can tell the type of player he is by the fact that he is perfectly happy sitting on the bench and collecting a paycheck instead of competing and playing for maybe less money. Total bum and waste of a career.

    1. While I am not a fan of his, you may be a little harsh. Uprooting and moving your family for a different country and lifestyle is not something to be taken lightly. Players are afterall still people. That said, he reportedly has had options available to him in the past that would have provided more of a similar lifestyle (ie. Greece) and would have offered him more playing time. I guess, unfortunately for us, it just wasn’t the right move for him at the time.

  2. I totally understand the family aspect of this. However, he is a professional football player. Most of them move every couple of years. That’s just expected. All I’m saying is if it were me, I would want to make the most money possible. But I would want to play too, not sit on the bench.

    1. I don’t disagree with you. He seems like he lacks ambition but I also understand why he would reject moves. As a fan, I would fly to Milano to help him pack his bags if that would expedite his move away.

  3. I do believe he can be useful again, Pioli is not a smart coach, sticking to useless players like Diaz. Doesn’t know how to exploit DK is an evidence of that.
I always believe smart coach can turn dust to gold so enough blaming players and see first what did the coach do to develop them

  4. Yeah I agree with you,Pioli can not transform a player.look at cdk he boy needs transformation Adli for instance why. is he not playing so it always has to be with baneser and tonali why.
