GdS: Milan have a strategy despite €50m demands for number one defensive target

By Oliver Fisher -

After hopefully completing the midfield department with the signings of Sandro Tonali, Brahim Diaz and possible Tiemoue Bakayoko, Milan are ready to focus on the defence.

The Rossoneri are believed to be in the market for a young centre-back who can rotate with captain Alessio Romagnoli and the experienced Simon Kjaer, and Milenkovic is the name that continues to be linked the most.

Wednesday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) confirms that Milenkovic has long been at the top of Milan’s list to reinforce the defence.

However, at the moment Fiorentina are asking for €50million without any counterparts including in the deal, something Milan deem to be way too much.

Consequently, the Rossoneri are thinking of waiting, in the hope that La Viola will lower their claims for the Serbia international towards the end of the market, especially given the difficult situation surrounding the renewal of his current deal, which expires in 2022.
