AC Milan have Sassuolo-owned striker Gianluca Scamacca on their wish list but they face competition from Fiorentina to sign him, a report claims.
With Zlatan Ibrahimovic out until the new year, the idea of signing a new centre-forward has been mentioned to allow the Swede to recover at his pace and also to manage his workload, given the absence of a natural striker to replace him at the moment.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive), Scamacca – currently on loan at Genoa where he has four goals this season – is a target for the Rossoneri as the management like him for his strong and mature character and for his technical qualities.
The paper adds though that Milan will have to beat competition from a league rival as Fiorentina seem to have recently moved to try and get Scamacca.
La Viola would like him in January as a reinforcement for a struggling attacking department. The first offer has already been launched: Scamacca would join them on a six-month loan while Patrick Cutrone would go to Genoa on a temporary basis.
Sassuolo though only want to sell outright and €20m would be required for them to do so.
