AC Milan are serious about signing Emerson Royal from Spurs and they hope to close a deal sooner rather than later, according to a report.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), there is a meeting scheduled between the parties which will take place imminently. If it is positive and the last obstacles are overcome, Milan will then be able to proceed towards the finish line.
A lot of progress has already been made: the Rossoneri directors and their Tottenham counterparts started from very distant positions. Tottenham’s first request for the player was €30m, but Milan insisted that a lower offer be evaluated, between €18-20m or even €15m plus bonuses.
Tottenham have not yet definitively given in but they are ready to listen as demonstrated by the talks scheduled for the next few hours. Emerson meanwhile reciprocates the interested from Milan, as he has other foreign offers but has made the Diavolo his priority.
It is possible that Royal will seen what has happened with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic, who were reserve players at Chelsea but have become key players for Milan and among the best in Serie A.
For Emerson there is also another personal objective: finding consistency at a club that will help him conquer a spot in the Brazilian national team for whom he has played 10 games so far, but the most recent one was in November 2023.
Meanwhile, Emerson Royal has the characteristics required by Paulo Fonseca, who is aiming for a full-back on the right who likes to get forward. The former Barcelona man is not the only candidate but the one the club has been working on the longest.
Jeff should be given a swift kick out of Milano. At the very least banished from the first team. the U23 and Primavera is his area and he should stay there
