AC Milan are ready to offer Davide Calabria a significant pay rise in order to commit his future to the club and sign a new deal, a report claims.
The right-back has been one of the best stories of the season so far as he seemed almost certain to be sold last summer but has seized a spot in the starting XI and has not let go thanks to a string of consistently good performances.
Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) reports that Milan are willing to raise the salary of Calabria to around €2million net per season which is a big increase from the €1.2m net per year he currently earns.
Given that his current contract runs out in 2022, the parties will sit at the negotiating table to discuss a new deal at the end of the season. Calabria himself wants to stay and the feeling is that an agreement will come.
