AC Milan are in the market for a new centre-back to complete the department and they have set their sights on Andrew Omobamidele, a report claims.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes how Milan are following Omobamidele with great interest, given that the scouting department have often shown a willingness to look beyond the ‘top five’ leagues for talent.
The Ireland international – who has a Nigerian father – played 35 games last season across the Championship (English second tier) and the FA Cup, with one goal scored.
The Rossoneri have asked for information on his situation because they would gladly add a young defender to Pioli’s ranks in the last days of the window, given Matteo Gabbia has departed on loan.
However, it will not be simple due to costs and the tight timing. It is therefore possible that Omobamidele – under contract until 2026 – becomes a target for the January window.

It seems Milan have a great need for players to be left on the bench for the whole season.
Squad is thin on the defensive side….we can’t depend on Kjaer anymore. And neither Tomori, this kid is good and could develop into an excellent CB
We have Simic, I think that sooner or later in the season he will pair with Thiaw as the main CBs
Pavard would be a dream signing given he would address 2 positions
