AC Milan are in the running for Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi but there is plenty of competition and a big asking price, a report claims.
It is now no secret that the Rossoneri are in the market for a new winger, one with different characteristics to Alexis Saelemaekers in the sense that they are more of a direct goal threat. After a season with 17 goals and 8 assists for Sassuolo, there is arguably no better target than Berardi.
According to the latest from La Gazzetta dello Sport (via FootballItalia), Sassuolo have set a €40m asking price for Berardi because they are aware that Milan, Lazio, Liverpool and Leicester City are all keen on signing the 26-year-old after his impressive performances at Euro 2020.
The right-sided winger turns 27 in August and has impressed for Italy at Euro 2020 so far.
It is worth noting that Berardi’s contract with Sassuolo runs until June 2024, so the Neroverdi are in a good negotiating position in that regard, but it is believed that Sassuolo will let the player choose his destination rather than force him to go to the team offering the most.

Milan won’t pay cash to sign players and for sure not 40 mil. We want quality players but only on loans, that won’t happen so I’m sceptical about this strategy. Also part of the strategy is offer 4 milion per season for Hakan and less then 4 for Kessie. Their valuation is that Hakan is worth more then him? With Dollaruma it looked like strategy now is more like confusion.
I would take him on loan with option to buy. It would be a shame to spend 40 millions for him to flop.
We aren’t spending 40M on Berardi or anyone else for that matter….
