GdS: Milan make Tonali No.1 target – Maldini could be key in beating Inter to €30m deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have made Sandro Tonali their number one midfield target for the summer window and they are looking to beat Inter to his signing.

La Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that the Rossoneri management have been working for months to strengthen the midfield department with the team in desperate need of an alternative to the excellent Kessie-Bennacer pairing.

The outlet claims that the real number one target for Milan in the upcoming window is Brescia’s Tonali. Every single member of the management are in agreement, from Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to head coach Stefano Pioli and even the ownership believe that the 20-year-old would be a wise investment.

At the moment, city rivals Inter are the main hurdle as they have agreed terms with the player, but they are yet to strike a deal with Brescia president Massimo Cellino which presents an opportunity for Milan.

The Nerazzurri have made an offer of €30million which is well within the reach of the Rossoneri, and the charisma of Maldini – who of course captained the great Milan sides Tonali grew up watching as a boyhood fan of the club – could convince the Italy international.
