Marcelino has made a huge request to Milan that the club must adhere to before he would consider taking a role as head coach, a report claims.
There has been an abundance of speculation regarding the possibility of Ralf Rangnick joining Milan this summer, with some outlets claiming that the deal is virtually done while others deny any certainty in the negotiations.
One of the alternatives that has been doing the rounds is former Villarreal and Valencia boss Marcelino Garcia Toral, and La Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday (via MilanLive) have brought up his name again.
The paper claims that the Spanish coach has made a huge request to Milan: he has asked to change fifteen players from the current team if he is to take over. A difficult claim to satisfy, considering that the Rossoneri have their investment limits dictated by a balance sheet that is in dire need of recovery.
There is the flexibility to sign a number of different players to start an overhaul, but the idea of changing 15 players seems unthinkable at present, and if this really is Marcelino’s request then his candidacy seems unlikely.
