GdS: Milan missing their leader – the Rossoneri lack goals and intensity without Ibrahimovic

By Oliver Fisher -

Just like they were last season, AC Milan have been left clinging to Zlatan Ibrahimovic to get them out of a slump, according to a report.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport writes (via MilanNews), Milan may have played good games without Zlatan and obtained good results in the first half of the campaign, but with him on the pitch it is now useless to ignore that the team appear so much more effective.

The Swede is a champion by mentality and not just an experienced striker who scores a lot of goals. Ibrahimovic’s absence in the crucial phase of the season weighed heavily and Milan won only against Genoa since his latest setback before falling to defeats against Sassuolo and Lazio in the space of a few days.

It is not a coincidence either as Milan are missing his goals, his vision and even his fired-up nature. In short, the main pillar of the Milan squad was missing but he should be back in the next round, against Benevento. Milan desperately need his charisma and experience because with five games left there are no more margins for error.
