GdS: Milan owners Elliott intend to spend in January; budget not unlimited

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s owners Elliott Management know that reinforcements are needed in January and are ready to spend as a result, a report claims.

The Rossoneri currently sit in the bottom half of the table having lost six out of their first 11 games – their worst start to a season since 1941-42.

Stefano Pioli replaced Marco Giampaolo last month with the latter having lost four of seven games, but Pioli has amassed four points from four games so far and has struggled to make an instant impact.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), Milan’s owners Elliott Management know that the team needs reinforcements, and in the January window they are ‘ready to intervene’.

The report mentions ‘sources close to the property’, stating that there is a willingness to spend to try to change the course of the season, but the budget will not be unlimited and probably will depend on how the team gets on between now and January.
