GdS: Milan player ratings from win over Hellas Verona – subs change the game; duo struggle

By Oliver Fisher -

It was a mixed bag of scores for AC Milan’s players in La Gazzetta dello Sport’s ratings as the Rossoneri recorded a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Hellas Verona.

The paper (via MilanLive) awarded Samu Castillejo the title of man of the match for Milan as the Spaniard came off the bench at half-time and provided the shock that woke Milan up, winning the penalty that made it 2-2 and crossing the ball for the own-goal that ended up being the winner.

A 6.5 was given to Fikayo Tomori who was solid in the defensive phase and the same went to Olivier Giroud for an important goal to get Milan back in it and to Rafael Leao who got the assist for the Frenchman and had a hand in the other two goals too.

Rade Krunic got a 6.5 too and had a ‘brilliant performance after two months out’. A 6 went to Tatarusanu, Calabria, Ballo-Touré, Kessie, Bennacer and Rebic. A 5.5 was awarded to Romagnoli as he conceded a penalty which was not the right call but perhaps with a little more intelligence he could avoid contact.

Saelemaekers and Maldini both got a 5 as the Belgian did not look at his sharpest while the playmaker was replaced after 45 minutes after struggling to put his stamp on the game.
