GdS: Milan player ratings from Genoa win – three players deserving of a 7

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan were not at their free-flowing best again in last night’s win over Genoa but they did get the job done, emerging 2-0 victors at San Siro.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanPosts) have given their ratings, starting with one for the overall team performance which was a 6.5 out of 10 to Genoa’s 5.5, while Stefano Pioli also got a 6.5 for his management of the game.

The best player in the eyes of the paper was Rafael Leao who opened the scoring inside 11 minutes and got a 7, while the worst was Alexis Saelemaekers as his struggles on the right wing continued, so he got a 5.

Mike Maignan and Pierre Kalulu got a 7 for their rock solid performance, with Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez each getting a 6.5 and Matteo Gabbia receiving a score of 6. The midfield duo Ismael Bennacer and Sandro Tonali got a 6.5 and a 6 respectively.

Franck Kessie, Olivier Giroud, Ant Rebic and Rade Krunic got a grade of 6, while Junior Messias got a 6.5 as he made sure of the win with a late goal.

  1. How did Giroud arrive at 6 rating.

He didn’t play anything, proper rating should be 4

    Saelmaekers 3

    The paper is too generous
