By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan continued their preparations for the new season with another convincing friendly win, this time beating Marseille 2-0 at the Stade Velodrome.

Milan scored both goals in the first half as Junior Messias added to his preseason tally with a lovely curling finish from a Brahim Diaz pass, and then he turned provider as Olivier Giroud marked his return to his home country with a tidy finish.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have published player ratings for the game, starting by crowning Messias as the man of the match with a 7.5 out of 10 score.

Running down the list of players, Mike Maignan got a 6 having only faced one real shot, Davide Calabria got a 6.5 as he fed Messias for the opener, Pierre Kalulu got a 7 as he appeared very sharp and Simon Kjaer was given a 6 on his return.

Fikayo Tomori received a 7 for a similarly attentive performance like his centre-back partner Kalulu, while Matteo Gabbia got a 6 and Theo Hernandez was deserving of a 6.

Ismael Bennacer was a dynamic presence in midfield, earning a mark of 6, with his double pivot partner Sandro Tonali getting a 6. Brahim Diaz got a 6 too as did Yacine Adli, but Ante Rebic and Rafael Leao both scored 5.5. Finally, Olivier Giroud got a 6.5 having scored again, and Marko Lazetic got a 6.
