GdS: Milan player ratings for Inter loss – No one shines for the Rossoneri

By Euan Burns -

The ratings from La Gazzetta dello Sport do not make for great reading if you are an AC Milan player following the Derby della Madonnina defeat against Inter.

The paper (as seen below) has given the team an overall rating of five for the match on Sunday night that ended 1-0 to Inter thanks to a first-half header from Lautaro Martinez.

Stefano Pioli is coming under extreme pressure after such a poor run of form and he was given a lowly rating of 4.5. The worst-rated player was Junior Messias with 4.5, a score shared with Simon Kjaer, Rade Krunic, Divock Origi and Olivier Giroud.

The highest-rated Rossoneri player was surprisingly Ciprian Tatarusanu in goal. Given Milan had conceded 12 goals in their previous three games, conceding only one could be seen as progress.

Plenty of fives were handed out to the likes of Pierre Kalulu, Matteo Gabbia, Davide Calabria, Theo Hernandez and Alexis Saelemaekers.

Sandro Tonali, and Rafael Leao fared better with a rating of 5.5, whilst Brahim Diaz was given six. In truth, no Milan player covered themselves in glory at San Siro.

    1. Calabria = 0…….a player who – on my opinion – never was good enough for serie a! But he`s not the onliest one in this milan -team at the moment. What a shame!

      1. The only reason Calabria looks half decent is because Saelemaekers spends 70% of his game pressing attackers around Calabria.

If Saelemaekers doesn’t play, but Messias for instance, Calabria is enormously exposed as RWB and it’s painful to watch. Good from Pioli to play him higher imo, but it doesn’t adress the core issue.
