GdS: Three heroes emerge for Milan Primavera in Braga win – now Real Madrid await

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s senior side should perhaps be looking at the Primavera for European inspiration, as they got to the UEFA Youth League quarter-finals for the second straight season.

As reported this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), when Ignazio Abate’s side play in the Youth League they seem to light up with pride, and yesterday was no exception.

Under the eyes of Stefano Pioli – who followed the match hooded together with Geoffrey Moncada, Daniele Bonera, Vincenzo Vergine, Luka Jovic and a series of scouts – the Rossoneri reached the quarter-finals by eliminating Braga on penalties.

The shootout came after a 2-2 draw in normal time, which included the Portuguese side equalising at the last second, but Milan dusted off the disappointment and kept their heads from 12 yards.

In the end, there were three heroes above all: Diego Sia and Kevin Zeroli, the two scorers, and the goalkeeper Noah Raveyre, who did well to stop two penalties during the shootout at the end.

Real Madrid await in the quarters on 12 or 13 March at the PUMA House of Football, after Los Blancos eliminated RB Leipzig. The final word belongs to Abate: no other coach in the history of Milan has led the Primavera to the UYL quarter-finals twice in a row.
