AC Milan wrapped up the signing of Noah Okafor from Red Bull Salzburg yesterday, and more details continue to emerge regarding the terms of the deal.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes this morning that Milan will sign Okafor from Salzburg for a figure of €14m, which is largely influenced by the fact he had less than a year left to run on his contract.
Milan were linked with a move for the 23-year-old last year and more intensely when he scored against them in the Champions League group stages, with that interest now coming to fruition.
The scouting department like Okafor for his speed, creativity, technique, and adaptability, the latter of which means he can be both Rafael Leão’s deputy and Olivier Giroud’s back-up too.
In 166 career matches, he played 64 times as a centre-forward, another 64 as a left winger and 38 as a right winger. With Salzburg he scored 34 goals in 100 games, with 14 goals and 11 assists being his most prolific season (2021-22).
Okafor will sign a four-year agreement with an expiry of June 2027 and a salary of €2.2m net per season as per the paper. He is an EU player despite the fact Switzerland are not in the European Union, by virtue of the country being in the Schengen agreement and the EEA.
He will join the team in the United States of America in the next few days. It will be easy for him to make himself understood by his new team-mates too, as he already speaks Italian.
