GdS: Milan ready to offer €40m for De Ketelaere – why he is seen as the perfect profile

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready to make a big offer to try and get the man that they want to reinforce the attack, which is Charles De Ketelaere of Club Brugge.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri management intend to offer €40m to sign De Ketelaere from club Brugge, but instead the Belgian club seem willing to put up some resistance and would rather sell Noa Lang.

The identikit of De Ketelaere fits perfectly with the Milan project which, even with RedBird, should continue to back young players with great potential to emerge in a more competitive environment. Since Stefano Pioli arrived, he has shown that he can develop young players like Leao, Theo Hernandez, Bennacer and Tonali.

De Ketelaere knows that making the jump to a big club could make him thrive even more, but it could also jeopardise his candidacy for the World Cup in Qatar with Belgium given it could reduce his playing time initially.

The growth of De Ketelaere is there for all to see as he amassed 17 goals in 77 appearances in the last two seasons. He is young and versatile yet has important experience in the Champions League having already played 16 games with 2 goals to his name.

  1. Redbird are worse than Eliot. They didn’t have cash to buy the club. So their primary interest now is to find investors. Maldini relies only on the funds collected after winning the scudetto and CL qualifying. It follows they do not have money to invest in this kind of players. Just look at the bootman case. That is a good example. Let’s hope Maldini pulls again his magic

    1. “Redbird are worse than Eliot”

Based on what? Hedge fund came to Milan to ruin the club & only make money. Oh what do you know, they won the Scudetto despite.

RedBird didn’t have the cash? Well… They’ve already covered 1B€ of the price. I think it’s pretty impressive in just a couple of weeks.

Yeah. Let’s just judge them already as a failure and start crying on the internet.

    2. Your comments are nothing but negativity based purely on your own internal thoughts and not on reality. The new ownership hasn’t even had a transfer window to show their intentions, yet you criticize and criticize using baseless rumours to justify your position. If this group maintains the same philosophy as Elliott, they should get the same kind of patience that brought us the Scudetto. All this negativity from all these comments makes me wonder whether you and others like you are a fan at all.

    1. And I’m for one am happy they didn’t spend all those euros on a CB we don’t really need. We’ve got bigger issues and a BACKUP CB isn’t worth spending 1/3 of the transfer budget. Anyone with half a brain knows that.

  2. I fully agree with BB and Honest Truth comments. I’m sick and tired with all these ‘doom & gloom’ babbling. Let’s simply wait and see what will happen.

    FORZA MILAN!

    1. Fellow rossoneri’s let’s exercise some patience for the new owners, Maldini and Massara. All these negative comments about the new owners wouldn’t help. We can’t spend 45m euros on a CB when we have to fix the attacking role. If Bootman decides to follow money to Newcastle we have the likes of Kalulu, Tomori and Kjaer. We need quality in our RW,CAM and young prolific ST.
