GdS: Milan reignite pursuit of Porto striker – last week of the window could be crucial

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have made nine signings this summer but there is the growing feeling that they could reach double digits with the arrival of a new striker.

According to what is being reported by Luca Bianchin who is a journalist for the newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, one name in particular has not gone away as the management look for a new centre-forward, and that name is Mehdi Taremi.

He claims that last week a new attempt was made by Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada to try and get Taremi, but Porto are still asking for €15-20m in order to sell.

Given that the Iran international recently turned 31 and has 10 months left on his existing deal, this price tag is seen as too high by Milan and they will not close the deal under the present conditions.

However, the journalist adds to ‘pay attention to the last week of the mercato’, where surprises can happen and situations change quickly.

  1. I really think Okafor and Colombo can do the job. I would prefer we gathered all the funds and tried to sign Amraabat although I know it’s unlikely.

    1. Yes and Giroud seems fit and reliable at the Moment. Okafor and Colombo can get enough minutes. If this fails we can bring another CF in January

      1. Colombo is too slow. All he has is a powerful shot. His movement isn’t particularly good, he’s average physically, as centre forwards go. He is not good enough. Okafor isn’t a striker.

        1. 💯💯💯

Okafor is not a #9 – and for those claiming he is or clamoring to play as one – well – we all know what happens when you play talented players out of position – – CDK anyone?? Lol

      1. $50mill? Where do you get your figures from? There is denying we need a real regista.

And I know reading comprehension is hard but I clearly said it’s unlikely…

        1. Ambrabat is a DM not a f*cking regista

stop using random words you learn off the internet as if you actually understand them, i know reading is too hard for you and complaining is really fun.

  2. Guys, he scores a lot, he can bring something that makes us a really dangerous team. He still has agility and strength, and he knows how to position himself in order to score a lot of goals. He is a 20+ striker!

    1. He does but he isnt a brand name that people here like they want Mbappe Haaland etc etc lmao

and they’ll blame Redbird for not bankrupting Milan to buy even more players

      1. How do you go from Taremi to fans wanting M’Bappe or Haaland and wanting to bankrupt us?????

Again – another baseless extreme position you take @Pioli – ummm, I mean @Boulden. makes ZERO sense how you come to that conclusion at all as NOBODY said that or asked for us to spend 100M plus on a striker lol. How old are you seriously? Is that the way you always think? Crazy

Considering what is left this late in the window and considering we blew all our $$ already mostly on mids – Taremi would be a solid signing BUT NOT at 20-30M….15M is fine because we are desperate. Perhaps even a player like Zapata for a small fee might be a decent stop-gap measure until next summer when we can hopefully spend on a proper striker (although why we didn’t just sign Wahi for 35M when we had the chance is beyond me).
