GdS: Milan remain interested in Chelsea midfielder but expect long and difficult negotiation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain interested in signing midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea but it will not be an easy negotiation, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) takes stock of the Rossoneri’s market strategies and confirms that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara want to sign another holding midfielder to ensure that Stefano Pioli has four options at his disposal.

This will become especially key in January when Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer depart for the African Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast and Algeria respectively, meaning Milan would be down to Sandro Tonali and Tommaso Pobega as it stands.

The negotiation for Bakayoko will take a long time, but for his part the Frenchman hopes to leave Chelsea this summer and he of course would not say no to re-joining Milan, where he found his best form since he was at Monaco on loan during the 2018-19 season.
