GdS: Milan run riot against Monza as Diaz and Origi show their best sides

AC Milan clinched three important points in their Scudetto pursuit last night, beating Monza by four goals to one. It was a much-needed confidence boost ahead of the Champions League deciders.

As highlighted by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan didn’t let the past get in their way and had no mercy for Silvio Berlusconi’s Monza. In fact, they had a show at San Siro as the likes of Brahim Diaz and Divock Origi did really well.

Diaz has certainly turned the fans around since Milan started using the 4-3-3 formation, even if he was the No.10 last night. He likes to stay close to the right-winger and yesterday’s goal was reminiscent of the solo run against Juventus.

It’s a shame, therefore, that he was forced to leave the pitch with an injury. The case was the same for Sergino Dest, but Stefano Pioli assured afterwards that the injuries don’t seem serious.

In three days, the clash against Dinamo Zagreb will take place. It’s a must-win for Milan as they want to make it through to the knockout phase.
